== Circular solutions for special waste management of small entrepreneurs in fast food industry ==

=== About the pilot ===
Norfolk County Council will demonstrate adoption of circular economy solutions in the fast-food industry in Great Yarmouth, the UKs 3rd largest seaside resort (5.75 million visitors/year). The seafront has a high density of food outlets producing large volumes of used cooking oil with potential for conversion into biofuel/second life food waste product. Takeaway food contains high levels of fat, carbohydrates and sugar which can represent a challenge for the composting process. We explore the latest technology available to create a more circular response to waste stream management. We will ID companies generating used cooking oil, engaging and supporting them in exploration and implementation of a new approach. We will work to initiate behaviour change, ‘green’ supply chains and build business models. We will explore how waste can be re-used, to power refuse lorries and tourist shuttle buses with recycled/refined cooking oil converted to biofuel via a local refiner.

== Circular solutions for efficient visitor waste management and recycling in the tourism food and beverage sector ==

=== About the pilot ===
Norfolk County Council will demonstrate adoption of circular economy solutions in efficient management of waste generated by tourists in Great Yarmouth. Food and beverage sales generate packaging waste e.g. card, lined/waxed card and plastics using different polymers (plastic forks/polystyrene cups). Recycling is made difficult with mixed materials, further complicated by the presence of food waste. We will explore options to switch to cost-effective, locally produced packaging suitable for composting. We will explore options to standardize food/beverage packaging, collaborating with entrepreneurs to use the same recyclable material from a local source i.e. trays, cutlery and cups made from a single plastic polymer or using cardboard/paper packaging. We will seek local treatment facilities to increase circularity. We aim to streamline the recycling process, reduce waste and support adoption of a circular economy.

Circular solutions for the management and valorization of shellfish waste

In this pilot we demonstrate Circular Solutions for the management and valorization of shellfish waste in the tourism sector in Baie de Somme.

Circular solutions for efficient visitor waste management and recycling services in the tourism sector

Visitors generate large volume of mixed packaging waste and often don't place waste in correct bins to allow recycling. We will work with entrepreneurs and visitors to increase circular economy using four processes concurrently for a maximum impact.

Cocreating a demo bioCircular accommodation with stakeholders

In this pilot we demonstrate the viability of circular economy tourist accommodation by co-creating a demo bioCircular accommodation with stakeholders. The focus in this pilot is to look both at techniques using waste material as well as working with parts that could be used in new accommodation or been giving another “afterlife”.
