In 2017, HZ studnents initiated waset seperation in their own student houses at the student campus of APV Housing in Vlissingen. The initiative was a project done for the 4th year Internation Business course, Sustainable Practice. The waste separation initiative was followed up by another group of students, and it was eventually adopted by the HZ Green Office. The initiative is supported by the municipality of Vlissingen; it helps the municipality to reach its objective to reduce the amount of waste produced from 400kg to 100kg per person, as is demanded by European Legislation.
We are currently looking for student ambassadors that would like to raise awareness about the importance of waste separation at the HZ campus in Vlissingen and APV student housing in Vlissingen. Contact us if you are interested or if you just want to share your ideas on how our current waste separation initiatives can be improved. Student ambassadors can link their activities to HZ personality credits.
Want to help us with these projects? Or do you have a new idea on the topic of waste management?
Send us an email at greenoffice@hz.nl
